2021 Memorial Day

We ask that you take the time to share the importance of our military members who helped to keep our country safe and free.  Every year on Memorial Day, we remember those military men and women who died serving their country. 

Many memorial are held on this day to honor the men and women who died for our country. Ceremonies are held to honor our heroes.  School assemblies are held in our schools, and small but meaningful activities such as simply reading to your children to bring awareness  are ways to acknowledge the sacrifices of these men and women.  How do you bring awareness?

May 2021 Books

Anytime I think of a gift for a child, books always come to mind. Mother’s day is about spending time with your children. Why not spend it reading. You classroom kids could create special books for mothers day, or give a book to the special mother in their life. Read about the importance of Memorial Day or the significance of Cinco de mayo, and have fun learning about zoo animals with the books geared to grades K-2nd, yet, loved by all.

Happy May Day! Wow, it is May and is there ever a lot to celebrate. Memorial Day, Mother’s and Cinco de mayo to name a few but those are just the obvious. Wouldn’t it be fun to surprise your students by celebrating Stars Wars day on May 4th and Bird day on May 10th. You could even follow Bird day with an exciting unit on zoo animals. And don’t forget to spend extra time enjoying the spring weather. May the 4th be with you!
