Whether you are moving into
a new house or a new classroom, unpacking is definitely not high on our list of
things we want to do before kids return to school. However, many good things
can come from being “boxed in.” Boxes themselves are wonderful tools to use in
the classroom. Creativity and learning abounds when children are given empty
boxes. Jewelry boxes, pizza boxes, toolboxes, gift boxes, and yes, packing
boxes are excellent teaching tools for lessons on measurement to storytelling
and everything in-between. We would love to share our boxes with you, but
hopefully someone closer will be willing to share.
