For some reason this year has seemed
to move at a frantic pace. It seems like we take one step forward and then two
steps back and it is already the middle of November!
We were having a hard time getting
in the “thankful” spirit when planning our Native American project when we came
across this prayer:
Hold on to what is good,
Even if it's a handful of earth.
Even if it's a handful of earth.
Hold on to what you
believe,
Even if it's a tree that stands by itself.
Even if it's a tree that stands by itself.
Hold on to what you must
do,
Even if it's a long way from here.
Even if it's a long way from here.
Hold on to your life,
Even if it's easier to let go.
Even if it's easier to let go.
Hold on to my hand,
Even if someday I'll be gone away from you.
Even if someday I'll be gone away from you.
Pueblo Prayer
So we are going to hold on to our
sanity by remembering to hold onto the things that are important family,
friends and those little people who enter our classrooms and our hearts each
day.
