Want a fun and
engaging topic that you can do for the beginning of spring?
PIGS!
Did you know there are
about 2 billion pigs? They are a very
social and peaceful animal and are one of the most cleanest animals alive. They do not have sweat glands so they roll in
the mud to keep cool. Who would have
thought them to be so interesting and fun to learn about? March
is a great month to do a study on farm animals
and these are just some of the questions and facts children can reflect
on when participating in class discussions and research about pigs. There are so many
awesome pig activities and skills you can do that I can’t even begin to list
them all in one blog post. You can do a comparison and contrast between two
farm animals, read non-fiction and fiction books, create anchor charts – well
the list goes on and on. After reading
our fact booklet, we extended our knowledge of pigs by doing
some STEM activities and using Chatterpix
to do book reviews on various pigs stories.
We also did QR Codes to guess the name of our pig book. We hope you consider doing some of these
activities! You'll be in hog heaven!
