Reading is a wonderful way to provide kids with a deep understanding of their world and fill their brains with background knowledge.
Start the New Year with books that inspire kids to think about goal setting. A lovely book is the Squirrels New Year’s Resolution. This book is perfect for helping kids transition back to school after the break and to get them to write their own resolution and gain an understanding of why it might be good to set goals.
Books provide a great opportunity to explore the lives of famous people like Martin Luther King. He left a lasting impact on not only America but the whole world. MKL day is in January, so it is perfect to read a couple of books about his fascinating life. There is a wide selection of books where kids can learn about his “I Have a Dream” speech and his call for equality and his work towards ensuring that everyone had the same rights regardless of their race.
Happy New Start to 2022!!
