Flag Day is celebrated on June 14th, and it is part of the National Flag Week. Our flag is a symbol of freedom and liberty so this day offers the perfect opportunity to help kids gain a deeper understanding of what patriotism is.
Flag Day is a holiday that often gets overlooked since it is just a few weeks after Memorial Day, yet, this holiday is a chance to help kids explore the design and grasp the significance of the American flag. The design dates back to 1777 and Betty Ross is believed to have created the flag. Kids love drawing the flag with the stars and stripes.
